§ 6-11. Designation of animal shelter; disposal of impounded animals.

(a)

Humane destruction. It shall be the duty of the animal control officer or his authorized representative under the auspices of a veterinarian to order the humane destruction by any animal control officer or authorized representative, or any animal lawfully taken into the custody of the animal control officer which is affected with any dangerous or communicable disease, or which is facing death due to injury.

(b)

Animal shelter designation. The town hereby designates the John P. Ancrum S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, at 3861 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston, as the approved animal shelter for the town, pursuant to S.C. Code 1976, § 47-3-30.
